Andrew has over 34 years experience in sales, management and marketing. He spent 19 years with Vodafone, 10 of which was on the board of one of the operating companies, Vodafone Connect Ltd, as Sales director, responsible for the In-Direct business. Under his sales leadership, the business grew in 4 years, from 800 new connections per month, to an average of 45,000 new connections a month. The subscriber base in 1993 was 48,000 and declining, and when he left that position in 2001, it was 1.4 million subscribers. During this time he negotiated contracts with The Car Phone Warehouse, Pocket Phone Shop, the two largest independent retailers of mobile in the country. During his 19 years, he headed up two start up operations in Greece and Holland. In Greece, he was responsible for appointing the six service providers, to sell and distribute Vodafone, formally Panafon. In Holland, he was responsible for setting up the in house service providers sales and marketing for Vodafone Holland, formerly Libertel and Liberfone.
Andrew was also on the main board of Symphony Telecom, where he was responsible for two operating companies. The first was CEO of Anglia Telecom a leading UK distributor of mobile phones with a turnover of L40 million, and secondly was MD of Symphony mobile, one of the few O2 and Vodafone service providers in the UK, with a turnover of L6 million and growing. |
